Sasha Budhai Artist Biography

Sasha Budhai lives and works in London and was born in Kingston Jamaica, W.I.

Sasha’s work is inspired by warm analogues colour to create a sense of dream like calm and wonder. Most of her work starts with loose transparent washes using acrylic inks, collage, spray paint or water down acrylic paint before using thick opaque acrylic and oil paint to finish each piece. Sasha’s work mixes the loose, expressive and bold strokes you find in an abstract piece combine with the representational. Her work focuses mostly on the female portrait surrounded by elements of nature in a calm-like state. Sasha’s work focus on creating using colors and painting equipment such as her bare hands or a palette knife to create an emotive connection to each piece.

Sasha has exhibited both nationally and international.

For the last two years Sasha has taught via her own and online workshops and have taken on custom portrait for five years.
